Music

With our first music video (posted below) we had trouble with our audio file. For an unknown reason Pinnacle wasn't recognising the MP3 file and after a lot of time spent on trying to upload the music, we ended up having to use a legal downloading site online. Even when we had got that completed, the audio file was cutting out towards the end of the video, which we didn't realise until the video was on youtube and our blog.
Hopefully with our new and final video (posted above) the audio works all the way through. When editing this new video, we found a corrupted shot which was cutting the audio short in our previous music video. So luckily after deleting this one shot, the music ran all the way through.

Diary of a day shooting

Monday 18th April

On Monday 18th April my group and i traveled to London to film the final parts of footage for our media video. We filmed many location shots including Big Ben, The Houses Of Parliament and The London Eye. We also filmed some shots of Leila walking through Covent Gardens.

When we first arrived we headed over to the Embankment where we were able to shoot some footage of street entertainers performing next to the River Thames. This is also where we were able to get some location shots of the surrounding famous landmarks.

No problems arose during the day, this way due to careful planning and preparation for example having the camera fully charged and all the equipment that we needed we had on us. We also checked the weather before hand so that we could choose a day with a clear forecast. Therefore on the day we had no weather issues.

We managed to film all of the footage needed for our music video, which meant the only thing left to do was to edit.

Changes to hairstyle

When we came round to re-filming extra scenes for our music video, our actress Leila; no longer had the bright red hair she had when we first filmed. As our choice of music was a Lily Allen song, we saw this as a good thing. One of the many connotations of a Lily Allen Music video is the constant changing of her hair. We decided to portray Leila as more of a 'normal girl' in the added scenes, rather than the expensive clothing she is seen wearing in parts of the video.

As you can see above Lily Allen often changes her hair colour, resulting in us having a more realistic video.

Re-Filming, Shooting Schedule

We decided to re-film parts of our music video and although it still includes most of the original footage, we realised that it needed to be about a minute and a half longer. So we decided to film the rest of the video in London, mainly in Embankment. We wanted to film there because it's well known for all the street performers that entertain next to the River Thames. So we wanted to capture these performers as they're a well known  aspect to London, therefore when the audience watch the video, they will know the location is London straight away. London is the location for most of Lily Allen's videos, not just her song "The Fear" and as she's well known for always using this location, we thought it was obviously the best place for us to film too.

Luckily we got all our extra filming done in one day, it was during the Easter holidays so we had the whole day to film. On Monday 18th April all four of us went to Embankment and got shots of various London landmarks. We left Shenfield around midday and got back at 5 o'clock. It was good we had the whole day to film and we used the time wisely by capturing a mixture of shots so we then had a choice of what to use in our music video.
